Shopping in Phuket is now days an amazing experience, as there is so much to choose from, all from major shopping malls such as Ocean Bangla, Ocean Plaza Patong, Banana Walk, Jungceylon in Patong Beach, Phuket Central Festival, HomeWorks Phuket, Tesco Lotus, Big C, Index Living Mall, Premium Outlet Phuket, SB Design Square just outside Phuket Town, on the way to Patong Beach, Phuket HomePro Village in Chalong, Tesco Lotus @Park Chaofa, Tesco Lotus @ Park Rawai, Turtle Village in Mai Khao Beach.
To the more local markets and expos where you really can make a finding, especially if you are just looking for good deals, on decent gear.
The major locations would be Expo in Phuket Town should not be missed, Super Cheap a bit outside Phuket Town to the north, and the Weekend market near Central Festival, open only Saturdays and Sundays from 15:00 to late, here you more or less can find anything they are selling at the beaches, for a fraction of the price, highly recommended to have a look here before dealing at the beach.
Then there is all the Fresh Markets, stall vendors at the beaches, niche shops, and so on and so on... Yes, it feels like there is no stop on what's available here.
There is loads of traditional handicrafts, clothing, jewellery, antiques, housewares, electronics, dvds, bluray, video games available here, just remember that sometime if the price is to good to be true, you might be looking at a knock off, rather than the real brand. So to stay safe, the real deal is usually available at the major retailers.
