An idyllic setting, as a wide beach at the southern end offers snorkelling opportunities. The Katathani Resort is the hotel that dominates it. Both Kata Yai and Kata Noi are suitable for swimming because the sands and the sea are fresh and clean.

There are many islands to the southeast of Phuket, including Bon Island, just a short boat trip away.
